+ Check out 10 Benefits of Tequila
Tequila is a drink distilled from a blue agave plant. It can be drunk neat, with lemon and salt, or with drinks, such as margaritas.
The drink comes in three basic varieties (with some variations in between): Blanco, meaning "white", is not aged, and has a spicier, more aggressive flavor on the palate; Reposado, meaning "rested" and aged between 2 to 12 months in oak barrels; it has a more yellowish color and provides a smoother drink to drink.
And finally, Añejo tequila, which means "old", is aged from 1 to 3 years, and is aged in small oak barrels, providing a 'softer' drink with woody notes.
